Here, across a serene stretch of wetlands, grasslands, and twenty wooded acres, practice, stillness and nature merge, offering visitors a refuge above the din of everyday life, as well as an elevated platform for inner, personal work. At The Higher Haven, we view everything in life in the totally positive, peaceful and secure light of spiritual understanding. We are determined to furthering the development of our students’ healthy, spiritually inspired self-esteem, the unencumbered, joyful expression of each students’ individuality.

Hygge — a word that translates to the art of creating closeness, the absence of annoyance, taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things and even cocoa by candlelight — has been the way more than one visitor described the feeling of lodging at The Higher Haven. And because we’re a World Class site for deep spiritual practice, we found it apropos. Accommodations at The Higher Haven are all about an atmosphere and an experience rather than things. Here, It’s about being with people we love and trust. A feeling of home. And knowing that we are safe, shielded from the world, and able to let our guard down.
