Subiaco is primarily a Catholic youth retreat center, offering weekend high school experiences and one-day Confirmation retreats. An experienced staff of the priests and brothers of St. Benedict Monastery and laypeople facilitates retreats.
We offer comfortable accommodations with an at-home feel in the spirit of Benedictine hospitality. The retreat house was designed to provide a relaxed, welcoming environment that adapts easily to groups of different sizes and allows flexibility when planning a program. There are large, comfortable rooms for conference talks and other spaces that become intimate areas for small group sessions without sliding walls and break-out rooms.
The public space includes a dining room for 100 people and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen that any rental can use. Your guests can enjoy break time in our rec room, which has ping pong, foosball, and game tables.
Walking paths on the monastery grounds will take you through rolling and wooded land with a small lake hidden on the property. Pack up a lunch and have a picnic in the small boat house. You might even want to cast a line in the cool water where bass, blue gill, and catfish swim.
Subiaco’s quiet and hilltop location suits any event where your group seeks a place to relax and refresh. The size of the building and the accommodations give any organization a place to renew in comfort. Many have used Subiaco for week-long mission trips, young adult retreats, high school retreats, days of reflection for men’s and women’s groups, and teachers in service.
