Ponderosa Retreat Center sits just outside Mentone, Alabama, only a few miles from the Georgia state line. This idyllic country setting is the perfect place to host a group retreat, complete with over 80 acres of forest along the banks of the Little River. Groups have been calling this location home to their retreats since 1976.
Ponderosa Retreat Center can accommodate up to 130 overnight guests and has chapel seating for up to 200 for daytime events. Facilities include a swimming pool, gymnasium, dining hall, and chapel. Accommodations are provided in the form of six rustic cabins and two dorm room-style cabins located in the gymnasium.
Additional services are available as a-la-carte additions to your stay at Ponderosa Retreat Center. You’ll have the option to add on catering, kitchen rental, use of the swimming pool, a sound system for presentations, and rentals for river activities. Outdoor facilities include an archery/riflery area, an obstacle course, hiking trails, a zip line, and a large field for group sports and activities.
Ponderosa Retreat Center can help you with the details of your retreat or you can simply reserve the facilities for your group and manage the experience yourselves. Certain activities do require the staff to be in attendance and this includes all water-related activities and the zipline, but you can easily set this up when making your reservations.
