Calvin Center is located in the Hampton, Georgia campus, just 20 miles south of the Atlanta International Airport. It’s so close to the city but you’ll never know it when you set foot on the campus, surrounded by forests and the appropriately named Calvin Lake.
What started in 1960 as a two-week summer camp has since evolved into a property full of facilities and accommodations to host groups of all sizes. There are over 530 acres to enjoy a list of outdoor activities that can make you feel like you’re attending summer camp. A few of the activities available include a rock climbing wall, high ropes courses, a pool, and miles of trails to stay active.
Guests of the Calvin Center enjoy accommodations of their choice in the form of cabins set in various locations throughout the property or in one of two lodge buildings. There is enough space to host up to 164 overnight guests year-round and seating for 200 during daytime events. Groups of all sizes are encouraged to see what the space is like and decide for themselves if it’s a good fit.
In addition to offering a terrific location for retreats, the Calvin Center also has summer camps for the kids, therapeutic horse riding, and training programs for ministry. It’s a great spot to go camping or enjoy water recreation activities if you happen to be in the area looking for things to do.
