The Bishop DeFalco Center has accomplished a lot by creating a secluded and sacred space for spiritual and personal development. It’s all within a few minutes of busy downtown Amarillo, in the Texas panhandle.
An unrealized dream of Roman Catholic Bishop Lawrence M. De Falco in the 1960s, the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center became a reality in 1982 when it finally opened to the public. The non-denominational center occupies 12 acres of land in the city, but it feels like you’ve entered an oasis of peace in a remote countryside.
The center is equipped to host conferences, spiritual retreats, couples retreats, business workshops and private events. Up to 92 guests can be accommodated in 46 nicely appointed double-occupancy rooms, each with a private bathroom. The center has three meeting rooms, a central round adobe chapel, a lovely courtyard, and many walking paths throughout the property.
The facility offers its own Executive Chef for crafting flavorsome meals during planned retreats, or a group can bring their own chef to prepare meals exclusively for the participants.
The Bishop DeFalco hospitality staff welcomes visitors to tour the center. During a retreat, the staff will always be there to ensure your guests feel at home during their stay.
